The coastal area around the Murcia region is known as the Costa Calida, which means 'Warm Coast' - an apt description for the appealing, mild climate here that experiences little rainfall. This area stretches from the Mar Menor lagoon, around La Manga Strip and along the Mediterranean coast to Aguilas in the south.
