Méribel is the single most popular resort for British skiers - and with good reason, for it is the best-positioned base from which to explore the vast Trois Vallées area. All levels of skiers and snowboarders are catered for, particularly those who want to leisurely explore a giant ski area and consider lunch to be the central ingredient of the skiing day - the choice of mountain restaurants is excellent! Méribel is divided into hamlets at different altitudes. Méribel 1450 is the commercial core, while Méribel Mottaret is a higher satellite area with piste-side communities. There's a selection of ski schools - ESF, Magic in Motion, New Generation/Le Ski School, Ski Principles and Parallel Lines. There are kindergartens at both Méribel and Mottaret, offering all day childcare mixed with skiing. Children aged five years and over can take regular ski lessons. The ESF also runs Les Saturnins crèche for non-skiing little ones.
