Mahua Kothi is an intimate lodge, comprising just twelve suites, and is located in the picturesque lush forests and hills that are now part of Bandhavgarh National Park. This scenic park supports the highest density of tigers in India and twice-daily jungle safaris are the order of the day here, accompanied by trained Naturalists in open 4x4 vehicles, while elephant safaris, birdwatching, guided nature walks, visits to Bandhavgarh Fort and cultural walks and cycling to a traditional village are also available activities. At the lodge itself, the public areas comprise a six-hundred-feet-square veranda with comfortable seating areas which are perfect for star-gazing, a library, safari shop and a swimming pool.

The twelve guest suites (or Kutiyas) are accessed through a private courtyard and feature richly coloured textiles in shades of rust and burnt orange, eclectic Indian handicrafts, original homestead furniture, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a safe, hairdryer, laundry service and en suite bathrooms with twin sinks, a shower and a bath. Rural touches have been designed to delight, such as the yoga amenities provided in a basket (complete with instructions), traditional Indian games and picnic lunches under the Mahua tree, while bicycles are provided for guests to explore the park-like grounds.
