There are four different villages, which are indicated by their height in metres, that collectively bear the name of Courchevel. Courchevel 1850 is the highest in terms of both altitude and social prestige - an international resort with a jet-set image and the place to be seen. In the resort centre, a covered mall houses smart boutiques and jewellery shops; there are several ski schools, all with classes for children; and the apres ski options include a good range of bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
