Leisure Facilities
The natural splendour of the Maldives is only perhaps surpassed by the stunning beauty of its rich underwater world. The island paradise is close to some of the world's finest diving sites, including two shipwrecks and a manta point, with the outer reef falling away at an exhilarating 2000m. More than 40 spectacular dive sites are within just 10 to 60 minutes of the resort, ensuring plenty of adventure for the active diver. The Sun Dive Centre, awarded PADI Gold Palm status in recognition of its excellent facilities, tuition, safety standards and expertise offers newcomers a first class introduction to diving and caters for experienced divers with excursions to unique dive sites and nitrox diving. Kanuhura's outer atoll location lies far from other resorts and shipping routes, making it possible to enjoy some of the best diving and snorkelling in the Maldives.
The spa is one the largest Asian-style spas in the Maldives, with beautifully designed wooden interiors creating a sanctuary for relaxation and wellness. Set in its own lavish pavilion the spa houses eight beautifully appointed treatment rooms complete with private outdoor garden shower, half of which are designed for couples to have side-by-side therapies. Spa products are specially blended with fragrant essential oils of flowers, spices, herbs, fruits and plants from all over the world.
On an island chain sprinkled across the equator like a strand of pearls set against a turquoise blue sea, Kanuhura is both a romantic and exotic location for your wedding blessing. Imagine a wedding altar awaiting you on the private islet of Jehunuhura, a palm thatched gazebo crafted for the occasion sitting at the end of a deserted stretch of beach and sarong-clad Maldivians beating the mesmerising rhythms of Bodu Beru, the local music.
Kanuhura, a member of the ‘Leading Small Hotels of the World’, has a Kids’ Club for 4 to 11-year-olds offering a large sand-filled playground, treehouse and swimming pool, as well as a programme of imaginative activities such as theme days and pizza making, led by highly-trained staff. Children can also choose books or DVDs from the library, or can surf the internet, but are sure to be happy exploring the beach looking for shells, hermit crabs or colourful fish. Children under 4 years old can attend the Kids’ Club if accompanied by an adult.
