Belmond Palacio Nazarenas

Cuzco is an historically fascinating city that hasn't yet been tainted by modern high-rises and metal infrastructure. Home to a multitude of ancient treasures, Cuzco was once the capital of the Incan empire, later conquered and partly destroyed by the Spanish. As a consequence, the city hosts a fabulous mix of Hispanic influences, alongside ancient Incan foundations.

Years of restoration has converted Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, a former palace and convent, into one of the city's most exclusive luxury hotels; a fabulous spa, the city's first outdoor pool and stylish restaurants serving cutting-edge local cuisine complete this intimate urban retreat.

Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa

+

Obscure, isolated, spiritual, wild and remote are all words to describe the mysterious Easter Island. Formed by a series of extinct volcanoes and sitting curiously in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, on this former abandoned island. Comprised mainly of grassland and shrubbery, there exists proof of an ancient civilisation in the form of hundreds of stone statues, some over fourteen foot in height, that are thought to date back between 1250 and 1500AD. Intriguingly, there are no trees on the island and only few mammals; you may see horses, cattle and harmless wild dogs, but little else. You will, however, find a wonderfully calm land, totally removed from the jostle of modern day, making Easter Island the ideal escape destination.

Hangaroa Eco Lodge is a unique property, in its design, materials and history, with a commitment to sustainability for the environment and the social development of the destination.

Highlights

Trace the history of a lost civilisation with your archaeologist guides as you explore Rapa Nui National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the beachside altar of Ahu Akivi and the Rano Raraku quarry, where hundreds of moai were abandoned.

This incredible natural phenomenon is one of the most impressive natural wildlife events in the world.

The ancient city of Petra, located in southern Jordan, is Jordan’s most valuable treasure and a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Dating back to around 300 B.C, it was the former capital of the Nabataean Kingdom and this half-built and half-carved complex contains tombs and temples accessed via a narrow canyon called Al Siq. The most famous structure, Al Khazneh, is a temple with an ornate, Greek-style façade.
