Guided excursions include nature hikes, mini-treks and ice-walks so adequate walking boots are required. Other activities include horseback riding and a full-day boat ride exploring glacial lakes; watch for falling clumps of ice as they make for an interesting and theatrical display when they crash and tumble into icy waters and the sound alone, similar to the distant rumble of thunder, is an eerie but fascinating experience.
