Luxury Guayaquil Holidays
As the biggest, most populous city in Ecuador, Guayaquil is heaving with culture and charisma. A former native village, its coastal location attracted the invading Spanish who in turn transformed the area into a successful port. Located on the Guayas River, the city offers many waterside restaurants backed by sultry watery vistas. We recommend you venture to the ultra modern Malecon 2000 promenade for more contemporary restaurants as well as numerous monuments, parks and museums, including the Palacio de Cristal (International exposition centre). Nightly entertainment shows run from June through to December. Guayaquil enjoys a temperate climate, with year-round sunshine and an amicable heat – ideal conditions, especially for iguanas, many of whom adorn the city’s boulevards. Head to Parque Bolivar; renowned for its collection of iguanas patrolling the tree branches for an exciting encounter with nature. Alternatively, take a trip to the Botanical Gardens and discover over seventy species of bird, sixty types of butterfly and a dazzling display of tropical orchids and precious stones.
