Accommodation
The Island’s 16 mahogany villas are adorned with colonial furnishings, eye-catching antiques and neutral fabrics. Guests can unwind in their sumptuous Jacuzzi or chill-out on the large terrace, complete with day bed. Each Villa has air-conditioning, satellite TV with DVD player, CD stereo, broadband internet facilities, in-room safe, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, and a twice daily maid service.
Leisure Facilities
There are seven pristine beaches which can be blocked off for sole use if guests prefer.
The Castaway Kids' Clubhouse for children 5 to 12 years-old, is a platform to educate and teach children (and parents) about the local environment and conservation of the island's natural heritage, as well as offering games, DVDs, craft materials, books and more.
During Christmas and Easter holidays a programme of structured, fun activities allows children to make new friends, meet old friends, and explore and enjoy the island in a safe and secure environment. A Castaway Activity Co-ordinator will be available at this time to supervise activities. Babysitters are advisable for children under 5 years-old who wish to visit The Castaway Club.
At other times of the year, The Castaway Club can be opened for families, however there will be no Castaway Activity Co-ordinator available although a babysitter can be arranged with prior notice.
The Rock Spa is a haven of serenity, perched on a cliff-top plateau overlooking the sea. Entered through a granite canyon, flanked by freshwater pools and cascading waterfalls, the spa celebrates the island's unique surroundings and embraces all elements of nature.
The finest holistic treatments from all over the world utilise ancient techniques from India, Australia and Polynesia with botanical treatments prepared from local ingredients growing on the island. After your treatment, relax with a glass of coconut milk, Champagne or lemongrass tea and enjoy the view from the spa's sublime vantage point high above the Indian Ocean.
For guests who wish to explore the Seychelles, there is no better way than to charter a private yacht with an experienced crew and savour the pleasures of visiting different islands at your own pace. We highly recommend you combine a few days aboard a crewed yacht with a stay at Frégate Island. For further information, please call our Travel Consultants.
Instruction and certification in scuba-diving and snorkeling is available at the PADI-certified dive centre. To the north of Frégate is Chimney Rocks, one of many popular diving locations where you can explore the dazzling underwater world that encircles the island.
Absorb the natural bliss of this resort, its protected surroundings and exceedingly conscientious conservation efforts with an in-depth nature walk. Venture into the jungle's tropical interior alone or take an ecologist with you for guidance. Amongst the jungle's canopies hide the island's infamous Magpie Robin and the tuneful Blue Pigeon as well as various beetles, insects and terrapins. Keep an eye out for the Aldabra Giant Tortoise - these are protected by the island's Tortoise Protection Programme and are definitely a sight worth seeing in their natural habitat. Thanks to continuous conservation efforts, the island now boasts the second largest collection of these formidable creatures in the world - six hundred and counting, there is plenty of opportunity to spot one ambling across the jungle floor.
