Leisure Facilities
Tremblant lies in the Laurentian Mountains, seventy-five miles northwest of Montreal, and offers visitors a chance to combine the convenience of a purpose-built resort with Québéçois culture and cuisine. All standards of skier and snowboarder are well catered for - and second-week skiers and lower intermediates are able to go almost anywhere on the mountain. This is also an ideal resort for families. The Tremblant Snow School offers a wide choice of courses including cross-country, race-training, snowboarding, snowblading, telemark, teen and women's lessons. There is a crèche for non-skiing children aged one to six, while ski tuition can be arranged for children aged three to twelve. Snowboarding lessons are also on offer for those aged seven to twelve. Other activities include horse-riding, cross-country skiing, dog-sledding, ice-climbing, skating, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, tobogganing and tubing. The old village of Tremblant has been a ski resort since 1939 and today Vieux Tremblant has been carefully restored. A colourful 'new' village, built in the style of the historic quarter of Montreal, is being skillfully added (over a ten-year period) to transform the resort into Eastern Canada's premier year-round ski and golf centre. The resort boasts dozens of smart shops and the choice of eating places is wide, ranging from pizzerias to restaurants offering the delicious 'Cuisine Québéçois'. For nightlife, Vieux Tremblant is home to the majority of the bars and clubs.
Located within the five-star Fairmont Tremblant Hotel in the heart of the resort, Amerispa is the perfect place to relax and unwind after an invigorating day on the slopes. There are no less than fifteen treatment rooms as well as a rest room for pre- and post-treatment relaxation sessions. There's a wide variety of relaxing and renewing treatments to choose from, including massage, body wraps, facials and manicures - all guaranteed to rejuvenate not only the body, but also the soul. For those seeking a little extra pampering, Amerispa offer a selection of spa packages. In addition, the hotel has a health club with both indoor and outdoor heated pools, two outdoor heated pools, two outdoor whirlpools, a 400 sq ft therapeutic hot tub, sauna, steam baths and an exercise room open exclusively to residents.
If you are planning on spending time on the links this year, the team at Fairmont Tremblant will assist you in creating the perfect golf package. With two excellent golf courses - le Giant and Le Diable (the giant and the devil) both challenging courses boast smooth, lush greens and supreme conditioning. Allow the concierge to introduce you to the Fairmont Golf Academy and choose between Le Diable, only minutes away from the hotel, it is a course that was host to the 1999 Canadian Skins Game and designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzane and Dana Fry. Le Giant is a further eight minutes away but offers 260 acres of green and a range of demanding elevation changes, it is also a Clublink Premium Member Club with a design to challenge the most assured of golfers.
