Having undergone an extensive refurbishment, Chalet Solyneou has been propelled into the ranks of Val d'Isere's most luxurious super-chalets, and for the time being it remains a very well-kept secret. As yet, no one had divulged how good the a la carte breakfast and afternoon tea tastes or how delicious the five-course dinners served six days out of seven really are. No one has explained that the Champagne flows every night, along with daily wine pairings and a complimentary bar serving soft drinks, port, mixers and beer, so it’s little wonder the merits of Solyneou remain undisclosed. Exuding sophistication on every level, the chalet’s large open-plan living space looks across breathtaking mountain panoramas and makes a delightful stay for both family and friends. The chalet includes a steam room, an outdoor hot tub and corner Jacuzzi, as well as a dedicated team of staff and childcare services available on request – but no one knows this because the striking Chalet Solyneou is such a wonderfully well-kept secret.

Leisure Facilities

Luxury Family Holidays

Pre-book a private nanny service and children can be taken to and from their ski lessons and kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme. Healthy home made lunches and snacks are provided and babysitting is available on request. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can also be provided.

Luxury Ski Holidays

Val D’Isere, when combined with Tignes, makes up The Espace Killy which boasts ski runs to suit all styles and standards. Often considered the ski resort for confident skiers, this is not entirely accurate and there are still 16 pleasant green slopes for beginners. However, it’s better to err on the side of caution, as the majority of Val D’Isere’s runs have been graded lower than their actual level; i.e. red runs feel more like black, blue like red and so forth. For snowboarders there’s a comprehensive snow park in the Bellvarde La Daille and for post-ski fun, there’s ‘Fun on the Snow’, held every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 5pm at the foot of the slopes which features snow football, curling and snow body-boarding, amongst other activities. The Après Ski scene is as hardcore as the skiing, with a magnitude of bars, restaurants and clubs. Dick’s Tea Bar is the resort’s most famous; open since 1979, the vodka flows until 4am but you can still stop off for a nice cup of tea during daytime hours.
