Outstanding Matterhorn views abound in this modern and relaxed Swiss chalet, but it would be impossible to tire of them. Chalet Louise makes up part of a larger building comprising several luxury ski apartments; specifically this chalet sits on the eastern side of the top three floors and shares a communal staircase with Chalet Zaphir. There are five smart bedrooms, a super-indulgent wellness area and a top-floor living space which exudes a subtly eclectic style and understated elegance. Guests are treated to a la carte breakfasts and an afternoon tea service every day, while five course dinners are served six nights out of seven – matched with wines and a wealth of complimentary beverages, including beer, soft drinks, port and mixers. Childcare is available on request, Champagne is served nightly and the chalet is fully staffed for the entire week. Guests needn’t lift a finger – instead they are encouraged to relax in the Jacuzzi, glass of wine to hand, enjoying the surrounding Matterhorn views.

Accommodation

Accommodating the third, fourth and fifth floors of the building, Chalet Louise consists of five bedrooms, a wellness space and a living/dining area with separate kitchen. Rooms two, three and four share the same landing but can be locked to form a very spacious three-bedroom suite.

Floor Three: With wellness facilities, including a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and one bedroom. Even more Matterhorn views can be admired from this level and spacious balconies grant guests access to the refreshing outdoors.

Floor Four: Comprising three bedrooms.

Floor Five: Along with one bedroom, the top floor houses the kitchen and open-plan living area. Facilities include a flat screen television, DVD player, CD system, iPod player and games consoles, while the art-deco fireplace adds a quirky edge to the modern interior.

This ski and boot room (shared with Chalet Zaphir) has heated boot warmers and can be found on the very ground floor.

Leisure Facilities

Luxury Ski Chalets

Chalet Louise is conveniently located between the Matterhorn Express ski lift and the Sunnegga funicular, for easy, stress-free access onto the slopes.

Luxury Ski Holidays

The village of Zermatt enjoys an idyllic, car-free location at the foot of Matterrhorn Mountain. A former farming village, the area is now awash with ski hotels, facilities and a feisty après-ski scene, although its natural charm remains – thanks to the beautiful chalets, narrow lanes and wooden barns. With more than 300km of ski runs to enjoy, Zermatt is a good choice for established skiers, boasting 39 blue runs, 113 red and 43 black, and just a sprinkling of beginner’s clubs. Accessing the pistes is relatively simple, with a new and improved ski system which runs from 8am every day and finishing as late as 5pm during seasonal months, while the snow is also impressive - the climate is relatively dry, the slopes are high and snow-making is extensive. Post-ski opportunities are endless; there’s an extensive helicopter service as well as two ice rinks and a magnitude of restaurants, bars, tearooms and patisseries. Take the cable car up to Klein Matterhorn or enjoy freshly prepared crepes on the resort’s main street – Bahnhofstrasse; in Zermatt, it’s as much about the social scene as it is about the skiing.

Luxury Family Holidays

Pre-book a private nanny service and children can be taken to and from their ski lessons and kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme. Healthy home made lunches and snacks are provided and babysitting is available on request. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can also be provided.

Location and Transfer

3 hours from Geneva to Tasch, followed by a 10 minute train transfer into Zermatt
