Laguna Phuket Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 resort course, designed by Max Wexler and David Abell, which challenges golfing enthusiasts of all abilities. The course is set against the dramatic backdrop of the surrounding mountains and nearby sea, and features scenic lagoons which means that players must take extra care to be accurate. Water looms on 13 of the 18 holes and threatens to swallow any shot that veers too far. The signature par 3 sixteenth hole offers a green encased by a myriad of gaping bunkers, while the short par 4 ninth hole looks deceptively easy, until you realise that you must hit into the small island green. The par 5 seventeenth hole, perhaps the most challenging, requires three long yet precise shots into a large green.
Laguna Phuket Golf Club also offers an opportunity for you to refine your game at its extensive practice facilities. Features include a covered area for sun and rain protection, a full length driving range, putting greens, practice bunkers and chipping areas; you can work on both your short and long games. The club also provides professional golf instruction.
Set on Phuket’s Laguna Club complex, Banyan Tree is surrounded by a host of dining and leisure options for all ages, and the Turtles Club for children 5 years old and over, offers ‘aquacise’ in the pool, kite-making, henna painting, traditional Thai games and more. Meanwhile, Quest Camp Laguna offers individual and group activities designed to develop co-operation and self-esteem, for 9 to 14-year-olds at the Quest facility which features high ropes, rock climbing and abseiling courses.
