Facilities
Adorned in beautiful Mayan architecture and handcrafted furnishings, villas have their own private garden and swimming pool in the style of a Far East courtyard. A menu selection of pillows is an added luxury bonus.
Leisure Facilities
Golfers will marvel at the terrain of the 18-hole El Cameleon course and the challenge its terrain presents. Aptly named the Chameleon due to its sudden transformation into three very different eco-systems, players are led through jungle and mangroves, faced with open-cave obstacles and with the water's edge only a swing away, miss-judge the proximity of your surroundings and you'll lose your balls to the depths of a canal.
Designed by acclaimed golfer Greg Norman, the course is co-shared by neighbouring resorts and causes quite a stir in the golfing community - home to the Mexican PGA tour, the course, bound to a demanding figure of eight structure ensures a dramatic and enthralling game.
The award-winning Banyan Tree Mayakoba Spa offers an extensive spa treatment menu mixing traditional remedies from Eastern Asia with age-old Mayan techniques. Treatments restore physical, mental and spiritual well being while uplifting and awakening the soul.
The Rainforest treatments, unique to Banyan Tree are innovative holistic remedies combining a hydrothermal circuit entwined with hot and cold thermal cabins where guests can embark on the Rainforest Trail, weaving through eight different hydrothermal therapy stations, from steam chambers to ice fountains. Truly unique and blissful.
The region of Mayakoba offers superb diving opportunities, in particular the area of Cozumel with its infamous cenotes (underwater caves), year-round warm waters and diving visibility of up to two hundred metres.
Banyan Tree itself does not have on-site diving facilities but with such unmissable treats to be found only a little way away, it is well worth leaving the resort for. Allow staff to organise an unforgettable diving trip to Cozumel and you won't be disappointed.
Banyan Tree Mayakoba provides guests with a very unique 'Romance Manager' who specialises in crafting bespoke couples' experiences. So whether you're planing a proposal, celebration or romantic gesture, the Romance Manager is on-hand to guide and advise.
