This remote area is home to a variety of birds and wildlife, including Whistling Kites, Blue-winged Kookaburras, buffalo, Magpie Geese, wallabies and dingos. Accommodation

Bamurru Plains is all about making the most of your surroundings and guest suites are raised off the ground, with an area for sitting which is perfect for trying to spot the animals. Each suite features an en suite bathroom but there is a deliberate absence of technology throughout the camp, so guests can get closer to nature.

Leisure Facilities

Luxury Hotel Experiences

Wildlife-viewing and bird-watching opportunities are abundant thanks to Bamurru’s location, amidst floodplains and savannah. These can be enjoyed on an airboat trip on the plains in search of birds, including Plumed Whistling Ducks, on a 4x4 safari onto the plains during the dry season, or on a river cruise in search of crocodiles (from April to October). In addition, Bamurru’s location on Swim Creek Station – a buffalo pastoral property – means that you may be lucky enough to witness the amazing sight of these great beasts being rounded up into the yards by helicopter.

Location and Transfer

35 minutes from Darwin Airport by helicopter transfer. NB: Visas are required for Australia.
