St Moritz has an excellent snow record and offers a comprehensive choice of winter sports. It is the ideal choice for intermediates, cross-country skiers and non-skiers, along with ski-to-lunch devotees and attracts a truly international clientele. No other ski resort in the world has such a profusion of hotels or designer boutiques, whilst fine dining opportunities are in abundance. Both our featured hotels have dedicated children's clubs offering a variety of organised activities. The town is divided into two segments: Bad and Dorf. Bad lies along the shores of the lake while Dorf is situated a little higher up. Celerina, Pontresina, Silvaplana and Sils Maria are nearby villages included on the lift pass. All the top hotels have good restaurants, where a dress code must be adhered to. After dinner, there's a good selection of bars and discos too. There are three ski schools - Swiss Snowsports School (accepts children aged four and over), Snowboard School St Moritz and the Wave Snowboard School, plus five guiding companies. Other activities on offer include superb cross-country opportunities, hang-gliding, heli-skiing, bobsleigh, horse-racing, polo, hot-air ballooning, ski-jumping and the thrills of the Cresta Run.
