As part of your Phinda Game Reserve stay, you will learn to appreciate everything from the dung beetles to the almighty leopard. Enjoy twice-daily game-drives in open-air vehicles (every morning and late afternoon), as well as leisurely bush walks with an armed Guard, traversing the animal kingdom from ground level. In addition, there are canoeing trips and river cruises down the Mzinene, which is awash with fascinating vegetation and birdlife; the cruise departs at both sunset and sunrise, casting a magical golden glow across the landscape. Equally beautiful, is observing the wildlife reacting to their changing surroundings, whether they be nocturnal or diurnal, their comings and goings in the reserve are spellbinding. Optional activities for guests to enjoy (and at an additional cost) include Rhino Notching (to aid the conservation and security of the Black Rhino), Elephant Collaring (a similar experience, whereby elephants are darted in order to enable the team to remove and replace the elephants' radio collars. Again, for the purposes of conserving and researching these wonderful creatures), Rhino Tracking on foot with an armed Guard and tailor-made Photographic Safaris whereby guests are accompanied on their game-drive by professional wildlife photographers who will be able to assist in all aspects of taking the best wildlife or landscape images possible (including lighting, composition, camera settings and editing).
