This glamorous lodge comprises three small camps of Masai-inspired suites perched on stilts on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. Each has spectacular views of the crater from the large windows in the bathroom, lounge and bedroom, yet are almost invisible from the crater floor. All suites are en suite with a chandelier-lit bath and shower. The décor is richly opulent, setting jewel colours, antique furnishing and Persian carpets against a simple backdrop of stone and thatch to great effect. Each camp has its own viewing decks overlooking the crater, with large fire bowls lending a special magic to the lounge and dining areas by night.

Accommodation


The lodge has three separate camps - North and South Camp each with twelve suites and Tree Camp with six suites. Each camp has its own living and dining room, together with an outdoor dining area and viewing decks. All suites have a hairdryer, electric blanket, fireplace, in-room safe and internal telephone (no external lines are available). A television and VCR is available on request. Each suite is tended by a personal Butler.

Safari Holidays

The crater is home to up to thirty-thousand wild animals at any one time, making it the most densely packed concentration of wildlife in Africa. Guests enjoy daily safari-drives into the crater, where vehicles are strictly limited to preserve this unique environment. Nearby, you can visit the ancient sands of Olduvai Gorge, often called the 'Cradle of Mankind', or enjoy bird-watching and guided walks with a Naturalist within the camp.

Luxury Family Holidays

All children are welcome, however 0 to 5-year-olds are not allowed on game-drives and children 6 to 11 years old are only allowed at the discretion of the Lodge Manager. The area is malaria-free and babysitting is available on request.

Location and Transfer

25-minute flight from Arusha Airport to Lake Manyara Airstrip, followed by a two-hour road transfer to the lodge. NB: Visas are required for Tanzania.
