A Mini Guide To Some Of Our Favourite Barbados Hotels

Our Travel Consultants, Nick Jackson and Stephanie Evans, and our Business Development Executive, Tim Maloney, travelled on a whistle-stop tour of some of our favourite luxury hotels and resorts in Barbados. Whilst we don’t recommend you try to cram quite so much into your next visit to the island, you could perhaps consider a stay at more than one hotel? They returned with some useful tips about each property that we thought you may find useful when you’re making your holiday choice.

Apes Hill Style: Very modern contemporary villa resort, with fantastic views of the island to all sides.
Good For: Golfers who like a challenging golf course, anyone with an interest in polo and families looking for a very high standard of accommodation. However, think twice if you like your beaches as the resort is located on a hillside, about a twenty-minute drive from the west coast. By the way, hiring a car to get around is a good idea so that you can see more of the island. Barbados is very easy to navigate.

Cobblers Cove Style: Traditional, boutique-style, ‘home from home’ hotel, with a cosy atmosphere and long serving staff.
Good For: Everyone old and young, including families looking to spend lots of quality time together. It’s also tucked away from many other of the main hotels that are about twenty minutes away. If you can’t live without your tech this may not be the best choice; there aren’t any televisions or gadgets in the rooms – however for most guests, this just makes Cobblers Cove even more appealing.

Colony Club by Elegant Hotels Style: Very colonial style, brought bang up to date with a recent multi-million dollar refurbishment that included a redesign of the restaurant and the restyling of guest rooms. All room categories are looking fresh and fantastic! The hotel has also put a bit more emphasis on health and wellbeing, so there is plenty of fresh produce and signature healthy cocktails are available.
Good For: Excellent beachfront location, suitable for all ages. A real favourite!

Coral Reef Club Style: This traditional coral-style hotel is the colonial older sister of The Sandpiper and family-run with a host of friendly staff.
Good For: Suited to all ages and with outstanding facilities including a Thai-style spa with multiple treatment rooms and a relaxation pool.

Sandy Lane  Style: Fantastic beachfront location and a traditional colonial style.
Good For: Suited to anyone and everyone who is accustomed to a high standard of accommodation, food (Bajan Blue and L’Acajou restaurants are fantastic), facilities (including golf courses, a kids’ club and a spa) and faultless service.

Tamarind by Elegant Hotels  Style: Modern in style, with an amazing beach location.
Good For: Couples and younger families looking for great facilities including a good choice of restaurants, pools, a kids’ club, beach service and a small spa; it’s great value for money.

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion  Style: Set on one of the best beaches on the west coast.
Good For: Those looking for ocean views without paying a premium for them – all rooms here are oceanfront, just steps from the sandy beach. The resort is suited to all ages and is conveniently within walking distance of local restaurants.

The House by Elegant Hotels  Style: Small and modern, adults-only, all-suite hotel by the beach.
Good For: The House is most suited to honeymooners and those who like a ‘trendy’ feel to a place. Enjoy the Ambassador Service, (which is in place of front desk staff), and having the fabulous Daphne’s restaurant on-site.

The Sandpiper  Style: Boutique-style, family-run hotel with spacious guest rooms and outstanding tropical gardens.
Good For: Suited to all types of holidaymakers, including families, who are looking for a beautiful location. What’s more, there is the benefit of having the acclaimed Harolds Beach Bar right on-site, as well as lots of space to sunbathe.

Treasure Beach Hotel Style: An all-suite, boutique-style hotel, with simply furnished classic style suites – some with excellent sea views.
Good For: Anyone seeking a relaxing, laid back atmosphere beside the excellent beachfront location of Payne’s Bay.
