No. 1 Fantastic Residential Feel
Acqualina Resort and Spa on the Beach has a very residential feel. And, with a range of facilities including three oceanfront swimming pools, complimentary use of cabanas and refreshment including smoothie shots, frozen grapes, cold towels and iced water every hour, three restaurants including Il Mulino, New York, a spa and children’s activities, there is little reason to venture further than the beach if you don’t wish. Guests can also experience a heightened level of modern elegance thanks to the recent refurbishment of the guest rooms and suites that have been inspired by echoes of surf, sand and shimmering water. Each spacious sanctuary is decorated in calming tones and features a selection of traditional furnishings in a deep ebony colour, finished in a rich, high gloss lacquer with inflections of bronze jewel tones. Satin drapes frame the windows and sliding glass doors give way to generously-sized balconies with views of the ocean or Intracoastal Waterway. To finish the glamorous look, you’ll find sumptuous details including channel tufted walnut wrap around headboards, a Chinchilla blanket and signature wingback chairs.
No. 2 Location
The hotel is located just far enough away from the main hustle and bustle of Miami, offering a perfect place to relax, and with the beach right outside, long, lazy days spent chilling out on the pristine sands and gazing at the ocean are most often the order of the day. Equally, the hotel is perfectly placed for easy access to some of the best shopping in the city. Aventura Mall, which is just a five-minute drive away, features both luxury and premium brands, lots of restaurants, a cinema and children's play areas. Meanwhile, Bal Harbour, just ten minutes away from Acqualina, offers plenty of designer shops and shaded walkways, dotted amongst palm trees, bright tropical flowers, fountains and koi ponds.
And, the Village at Gulfstream Park is South Florida's premier outdoor shopping and entertainment destination where you can peruse art galleries, dine at signature restaurants and stay until the small hours at one of the bars, nightclubs or the casino. What's more, Acqualina provides a courtesy chauffeur service to take guests to places within a 10km distance.
No. 3 Great For Families
Extremely suitable for luxury family holidays, the hotel welcomes children (just like adults) with a welcome amenity and offers families a great choice of suitable rooms and suites, children’s dining menus and family-friendly swimming pools. In addition, the award-winning children’s programme, AcquaMarine, organises complimentary biology-themed activities for 5 to 12-year-olds. Led by certified professionals, activities include educational beach and aqua adventures such as relay races, games, arts and craft, eco-explorations, building projects and treasure hunts. The hub of the AcquaMarine programme is the AcquaMarine centre that is kitted out with computers, toys, microscopes, movies and video games.
No. 4 A Beautiful Beach
Acqualina is one of the only hotels in Miami that opens straight out onto the beachfront, as most are gated so access is by walking over the boardwalk first. Not with this hotel though, you can step directly onto the sands. In the same way, the hotel also offers the only true beachfront dining in Miami. From a laid-back lunch of gourmet sandwiches and cocktails at Costa Grill, to a bespoke, private, candlelit dinner for two, the setting is simply breathtaking.
No. 5 Spa Pampering
Guests enjoy complimentary access to the award-winning, two-story ESPA spa and its thermal areas featuring Relaxation Lounges, Crystal Steam Rooms, Finnish Saunas, Experience Showers and a private pool with Jacuzzi and roman waterfall. A range of treatments include massages, scrubs and facials available for both men and women, with special therapies designed to target things including de-stressing or rehydrating the skin after a day in the sunshine. For a special experience for a couple or two friends, book ‘The Private Spa’ that comes with its own Steam Shower for Two and private deck where you can enjoy a lunch from the spa cuisine menu. Yoga, personal fitness training and
nutrition/detox consultations are available to complete your wellness experience.
